Johanna is a contemporary artist based in Limerick, creating atmospheric fine art pieces inspired by the landscape and the shifting relationship between light, mood and memory. Working with a refined palette of colours, each piece is created intuitively, capturing mood, feeling and atmosphere.

I begin most days the same way: I turn the music on and paint.

Rather than working towards a fixed outcome, I respond to what happens on the canvas. Some paintings begin with a memory of the sea or sky, others with a colour, a feeling or a movement I can't quite explain.

Layer by layer, the work reveals itself and my job is simply to pay attention. Its like a dance.
